Heading into the summer break with Beethoven and Strauss
After an intense season, marked above all by three premieres at the Theater Vorpommern (MY FAIR LADY, LE NOZZE DI FIGARO and the German premiere of Missy Mazzoli’s opera SONG FROM THE UPROAR), but also by encounters with the Württemberg Philharmonic Orchestra Reutlingen and soloists such as Marc Coppey, Dominik Wagner and Sebastian Klinger, the orchestra is now heading into the summer break with two wonderful concert programmes.
First with the Rheinische Philharmonie Koblenz and pianist Katharina Treutler at the Weilburg Castle Concerts – on the programme: ‘Beethoven pur’ (Beethoven pure): his Fourth Symphony, the First Piano Concerto and the rarely performed ‘Music for a Knight’s Ballet’ – an early work from his Bonn period.

The last two concerts of the season in the Kaisersaal Greifswald and the picturesque theatre in Putbus on Rügen are dedicated entirely to the jubilarian Johann Strauss: waltzes, polkas – and a Straussiana by E. W. Korngold!
